Firefighters’ visit was a fun way to learn

THE children of Turville Nursery and Forest School were treated to an exhilarating visit from the fire department of High Wycombe on Friday.

Team members Stu, Neil, Phil, and Alex treated our under-fives to a rousing hose-the-cone competition, after letting everybody climb up into the fire engine to try on the heavy helmets and have a tour. The staff at Turville Nursery encourage a deep understanding of the wider community and the services that they provide — and the visit from the fire engine fitted perfectly with this month’s learning themes.

This is just one of the many events Turville Nursery enjoy providing to enhance the children’s learning and development.

This latest visit was arranged by the nursery manager Becky Wrangles as part of fire safety awareness, as she has been leading Forest School sessions focused on making and respecting fire.

We thank all of the guys very much — the children (and staff!) had a brilliant time, and we all took away a fun and memorable experience.
