Reading East MP Rob Wilson MP visited Thameside Primary School in Caversham to congratulate headteacher Helen

Reading East MP Rob Wilson MP visited Thameside Primary School in Caversham to congratulate headteacher Helen Wallace, the staff and pupils on achieving an overall effectiveness rating of “good” following an inspection by Ofsted. The inspectors praised the school for ensuring that children of all abilities make good progress and said “every child, parent and member of staff is valued and their needs considered carefully”. Mr Wilson was given a tour of the school’s extension by Mrs Wallace and the Mark Harper, chairman of governors. The extension, which was completed in September, includes a classroom, new staff room, communal “break-out” spaces, a group room, a new office for the deputy head and working spaces for teachers. Mr Wilson said: “It was clear to see why the school has been praised for its leadership and progress. It is great to visit a school which is so supportive and nurturing of its pupils.”
