CRAZIES Hill Primary School was filled with the sound of chirping after 12 chicks hatched.
The birds are part of a science project for pupils where the eggs were incubated.
One class saw four chicks hatch, while another had eight.
The children were allowed to hold the chicks and were taught how to tell the difference between the sexes.
Year four teacher Justine McSweeney said: “We have four boys and four girls and more eggs still to hatch.
“The kids got to see two of them hatch which was amazing for them. They are so excited but I&rsquom the one that gets to take the chicks home for the weekend!”
It is the first year that the school has reared its own chicks.
