Student creates app to follow new nature trail

A STUDENT at the Piggott School in Wargrave is creating a mobile phone app to encourage visitors to a Charvil nature trail.

Troy Radeka, 18, started making the app as part of his A-level computing course and was approached by Charvil Parish Council last year.

The app includes a database of plants and animals at Charvil Country Park, off Park Lane, as well as a map and GPS system to help visitors find their way around. While he failed to complete the app as soon as expected, Troy has promised to get it ready for the parish council even if it means continuing to work on it after he leaves the school.

Troy, who lives in Wokingham, hopes the app will soon be available to download from the council’s website. He added: “I’m going to university next year to study computer science. I’d love to do software design when I’m older, anything to do with making programs.”
