FIREFIGHTERS were called to the Royal Mail sorting office in Henley after a flood in the basement.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to the Royal Mail sorting office in Henley after a flood in the basement.

A crew from Henley fire station spent 90 minutes pumping out 2ft of water from the office in Reading Road after the alarm went off at about 5am on Monday.

It’s believed the alarm was triggered by condensation from the water but it is not known what caused the leak.

Royal Mail said the office opened as usual at 7am and postal deliveries were not affected.
