Man pulled from Caversham lake

A man was rescued from a Caversham lake after getting in to trouble while swimming

A man was rescued from a Caversham lake after getting in to trouble while swimming.

Firefighters from Caversham Road station pulled the man from the water after he was seen struggling in an old quarry off Deans Farm at about 2am today (Thursday).

The Benson police helicopter was also called as the man was treated by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is currently running a campaign called Water Wise Water Safe urging members of the public not to swim in open water.
