Teenager goes on rampage in stolen forklift

A STOLEN forklift truck was used to tip over a car when the driver went on a two-hour rampage in Sonning Common

A STOLEN forklift truck was used to tip over a car when the driver went on a two-hour rampage in Sonning Common.

The blue Fiat Punto was left on its side during the incident in Hazel Gardens on Wednesday evening.


Scratch marks from the forklift were left on the road and the side of the car.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the driver with a firearm.

The forklift was also seen in Woodlands Road, Wood Lane, Green Lane and Baskerville Road.


CCTV footage from the village hall in Wood Lane showed the forklift being driven at speed and swinging into Woodlands Road.

Groups of teenagers on mopeds, bicycles and scooters followed it as the police helicopter was used in the operation to catch the driver. Police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101.

A 15-year-old youth from Peppard was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a firearm.
