RESIDENTS are being urged to beware of a bogus gardener.
Police said the conman, aged about 24, carried out a distraction burglary at a house in The Green, Nettlebed, on March 5.
He knocked at the front door and asked the owner about garden work. He was led into the garden where he chatted with the owner for about 20 minutes about possible work to a tree.
The visitor then said he would go to his vehicle to get a camera and tape measure but he did not return.
When the owner went back inside he found his clothes in an upstairs bedroom had been rifled and thrown on the floor, although nothing was stolen.
