Man stole from pal

A MAN has been jailed for stealing a Kindle and mobile phone SIM card from a house in Henley.

Damian Darani, 30, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft when he appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.

Clare Barclay, prosecuting, said he stole two items, worth a total of £320, from a friend’s house in Mount View on November 27. He sold them to a man in a pub in Reading.

The Kindle was later recovered and returned to the female victim.

Jayne Wilkinson, for Darani, said he had struggled with drugs in the past but was trying to turn his life around.

Darani, of Station Close, High Wycombe, was jailed for 14 days after also admitting stealing food and drink worth £72.32 from Waitrose in Thame on November 11.
