Police refuse to hunt for conmen stealing from me

A BUSINESSMAN has criticised police for refusing to try to catch fraudsters who targeted his firm.

Graeme Clark, who runs Rowgear on the Hernes Estate off Greys Road, Henley, claims the Metropolitan Police are not interested in catching the culprits or recovering his stolen goods despite having all the necessary information.

The business sells, among other things, indoor fitness equipment via the internet and he believes that criminals have been using stolen credit cards to buy from him.

Mr Clark, 58, who runs Rowgear with his son Tom, said: “A short while ago we started to notice an unusual pattern of people trying to buy our most expensive product — a rowing machine costing £1,195 — but the cards were being declined.

“When this happens we are not told the reason why it has been declined, so the assumption is that it has taken the owner over their credit limit.
