A VAN driver who spat in a Henley parking attendant’s face has been jailed.
Jack Schofield had been fined for parking without a permit outside the Catherine Wheel pub in Hart Street when the incident happened on September 4.
Schofield, 22, of Mount View, Henley, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
He had pleaded not guilty to the assault but was found guilty in his absence after failing to appear at his trial in March.
The trial heard that Schofield left his white Ford transit van in a residents-only bay outside the pub when it was spotted by council attendant James Churchill-Coleman, who was on patrol.
