Worker sues millionaire

ONE of Britain’s richest men is being sued by a maintenance man who was sacked from his vast country estate, an employment tribunal judge has heard.

Swiss financier Urs Schwarzenbach, 61, who owns large amounts of land near Henley as well as Hambleden village, and his wife Francesca are facing legal action from former worker Derren Jones.

Mr Jones claims he was unfairly forced out of his job and replaced by his foreman’s son.

The 50-year-old said that he worked for the couple for two and a half years before he was sacked without notice and was swiftly replaced by the son of his line manager, Andy Scott.

He also claims his job of managing the Thames-side estates was advertised in the local press and online shortly after he was made redundant in January this year.
