DOG owners are being reminded to keep their pets on a lead after a swan was killed on the Thames path near Goring.
The female was part of a breeding pair and was moved to the area by charity Swan Lifeline after being found injured in 2008.
She partnered with a male four years ago and this summer they had five cygnets. The family was often seen on the water near Goring lock.
Earlier this summer a Labrador puppy broke free from its owner and attacked the mother, who later died of heart failure due to stress.
Swan Lifeline, which operates throughout the Thames Valley, is now keeping an eye on the father and the cygnets.
