Family of crash victim agree deal with driver

THE family of a cyclist killed in a road accident in 2012 have agreed an out-of-court settlement with the driver cleared of causing her death.

Denisa Perinova, 21, a Czech waitress, suffered head injuries after falling from her bike during a ride with her boyfriend Ben Pontin on the B480 near Stonor in July 2012. She died in hospital a week later.

Helen Measures, 51, from Pishill, was acquitted of causing death by careless driving by a jury after a trial at Oxford Crown Court in October last year.

Miss Perinova’s family brought a civil case and last week reached an out-of-court settlement with Dr Measures, a drugs researcher.

Oliver Jeffcott, the family’s solicitor, said: “The family have confirmed that the award was related to the costs incurred during Denisa’s hospitalisation after the incident and the funeral costs, including repatriating the body to the Czech Republic.”
