Man beaten and robbed

A MAN suffered a broken tooth when he was attacked and robbed by a gang in Caversham.

A MAN suffered a broken tooth when he was attacked and robbed by a gang in Caversham.

Police said five or six men approached the 31-year-old at the junction of Matlock Road and Highmoor Road.

One punched him to the ground and he was then punched and kicked before having £40 stolen from his pocket.

The victim also suffered a bruised mouth and a cut top lip and was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

The robbery happened at 4am on December 23.

Police described the attackers as white, aged 19 or 20 and wearing dark clothing with fastened hooded tops. Anyone with information should call 101.
