Woman hospitalised after 'avoiding pigeon'

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a crash between two cars in Caversham.

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a crash between two cars in Caversham.

The 70-year-old?s Ford Fiesta collided with a black Volkswagen Polo in Prospect Street shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday.

She was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital by ambulance. Police closed the road for about 15 minutes so the vehicles could be moved.

A police spokesman said it appeared the collision happened when the woman tried to avoid a pigeon.
