Four charged over car chase

FOUR men have appeared in court after a high-speed police pursuit ended with a three-car collision in Caversham.

FOUR men have appeared in court after a high-speed police pursuit ended with a three-car collision in Caversham.

James Prentice, Gavin Prentice, Paul Bryne and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Aylesbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

They were arrested after an Audi A4 estate crashed when trying to overtake and squeeze past two cars in Church Road, Caversham, on Wednesday last week. The car had been followed from Henley by officers in a marked police car, who smashed the windows of the Audi and pulled the men out of the car.

James Prentice, 23, from Bolton, is charged with possession of a controlled drug, various motoring offences and burglary. Gavin Prentice, 18, also from Bolton, Bryne, 20, from London,and the teenager, also from London, are charged with burglary, theft and aggravated vehicle-taking.
