Industrial estate fire enters third day

FIREFIGHTERS are continuing to damp down following a severe fire at an industrial estate on the outskirts of Watlington.

FIREFIGHTERS are continuing to damp down following a severe fire at an industrial estate on the outskirts of Watlington.

A crew of five was today still at Lys Mill, where the blaze started in one of the buildings late on Sunday evening.

According to eyewitnesses, the flames reached 200ft high and could be seen for miles around.

Station manager Simon Belcher said he expected firefighters to remain on the scene this morning.

?It has been quite difficult to get access as the roof of one of the buildings has come down,? he said. ?Businesses in some of the other buildings are able to get in and try to salvage some of their stock.?

A cordon remains around the affected building but the road which leads up to Lys Mill has been re-opened.
