A ROWER who competed at Henley Royal Regatta suffered a chipped tooth and black eye after being attacked in the street.

The man, from Kent, was walking along New Street when another man, accompanied by two others, said something to him.

He asked what had been said and was confronted by the man, who suggested they had a fight. The offender then punched the rower two or three times in the face and headbutted him.

The attack happened on July 7. Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101.
