A TEENAGE girl from Caversham has been found safe and well a week after going missing.

Nicola Barr, 15, was found in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on Wednesday following a tip-off from a member of the public. Her father Neil said: “It is just fantastic news — I am absolutely ecstatic. I am really looking forward to seeing her.” Police had launched a nationwide search for the teenager, who was thought to have run away with her 18-year-old boyfriend Jamie Bloomfield, who lives in Rochdale.

The couple, who are thought to have been travelling around the country together, are believed to have met on the internet a few weeks ago. Nicola left her home at 7am on Wednesday last week and was reported missing to the police after she failed to return home by 8.30pm.

Her parents assumed she had gone out to visit friends but became concerned when she failed to make contact with them. Mr Barr made an emotional public appeal for Nicola to come home..
