A MAN filled up his van with petrol before driving off without paying.

Police said the driver of the white Ford Transit visited the Port Hill petrol station in Nettlebed and filled the vehicle with £97.78 worth of petrol and a Jerry can for £2.90.He then walked into the shop and bought two cokes and a coffee but his fuel card was declined.

Staff asked him to fill out the “no means to pay” form and the man said he would move the van from pump four to the jet wash first. He moved the van and then made a phone call before driving drove off without returning to the shop.

Police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened at 7.30am on September 2. The suspect is described as 22 to 25, 5ft 5in, of medium build, clean shaven with short, straight black-brown hair. He was wearing a green T-shirt.
