A MAN died and two others were injured in a three- vehicle crash on the A4074 near Woodcote.

Two cars and a refuse truck were involved in the collision, which happened near the Oratory School at about 12.40pm on Wednesday.

The man who died was a passenger in one of the cars. Another man was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and a third man was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Police closed the road in both directions between the B4526 Deadman’s Lane and Reading Road and other roads nearby while officers investigated.

They are appealing for witnesses to call Thames Valley Police non-emergency number, 101.

The A4074, from Reading to Oxford, has become known as the “13 bends of death” because of the high number of fatal accidents on it over the years.
