AN elderly woman was conned out of her bank cards and jewellery by two men.
Police said the 89-year-old Hambleden woman agreed to hand over her possessions after receiving a late-night call from someone who claimed to be from the police.
The caller told her that her bank details had been obtained by criminals and advised her to hang up and call her bank.
The woman agreed but the offender had not disconnected the call, so she continued to speak to him thinking it was her bank and provided her bank details.
The caller then persuaded her to put her three bank cards and some jewellery in an envelope and kept her on the phone while an accomplice arrived at her home at around midnight and took them.
The bank cards were used in the Henley area the next day.
Police have issued an e-fit image of the man who called on the victim. Anyone with information is asked to call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number, 101.
