A MAN who stored drugs in a freezer at his mother’s home has been sentenced.

A MAN who stored drugs in a freezer at his mother’s home has been sentenced.

Damian Darani, 29, of Gainsborough Hill, Henley, was given a nine-month supervision order and ordered to a go on a six-month drugs rehabilitation programme. He was also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

Police found a golf-sized ball of amphetamine in a polythene bag in a freezer compartment after a warrant was issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, Reading Magistrates’ Court heard.

Darani admitted that it was for his own use and that his mother Sharon had no knowledge of the drugs.

At the time of the offence in July, Darani had been on bail for stealing £300 worth of goods from Boots in Reading on two days in May.

District judge Alan Jones, who ordered the drugs to be destroyed, told him: “You have been given a chance with this sentence; it is now up to you.”
