Raiders steal charity boxes

BURGLARS stole two charity collection boxes from Nettlebed post office.

BURGLARS stole two charity collection boxes from Nettlebed post office.

They broke into the shop in High Street by forcing open a small side window before taking the Poppy Appeal and Sue Ryder boxes.

Postmistress Mel Bullock said: “A lot of customers were upset that they took the poppy box, especially at this time of year, and because Sue Ryder is a local charity. It’s not something you expect in this area and it’s a little bit unsettling.”

The break-in happened between 2.30am and 3.30am on Wednesday last week. Anyone with information should call Pc Barb Taylor on 101.
