Woman, 20, dies in Cane End collision

A WOMAN has died after a two-car collision between Chazey Heath and Cane End this morning.

A WOMAN has died after a two-car collision between Chazey Heath and Cane End this morning.

The incident happened at about 8am on the A4074 Reading Road.

The 20-year-old woman?s blue Nissan Micra, which was driving south towards Reading, was in collision with a silver Land Rover Discovery that was driving in the opposite direction.

She suffered critical injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by air ambulance, but died a short time later.

Police said the woman was local to the area and that her family had been informed.

The two occupants of the Land Rover, a mother and her teenage son, were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, where they are being treated for minor injuries.

Police, ambulance and fire crews from Henley, Didcot and Berkshire attended the scene.

The road was closed in both directions for five hours and reopened at 1pm.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should contact PC Sarah Davies via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
