Taxi driver robbed in Caversham

A TAXI driver was attacked and robbed by a fare in Caversham.

A TAXI driver was attacked and robbed by a fare in Caversham.

He had got out of his vehicle to get change from his trouser pocket when his male passenger pushed him to the ground and repeatedly hit him in the face, causing bruising and facial injuries.

The offender took the money and ran off when a woman got out of her car and ran to help.

The incident took place in Gosbrook Road between 8pm and 8.30pm on Friday.

The victim was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

The offender is described as skinny, 5ft 5in and wearing a blue cardigan.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to speak to call 101.
