Woman’s plea after collision

A WOMAN is appealing for information after she was involved in a collision with a lorry in Henley which failed to stop.

Cassie Sissons, 42, was waiting at the traffic lights near the Red Lion Hotel in Riverside on Thursday last week when the accident happened. Her VW Golf was in the right-hand lane as she waited to go straight on and the lorry was in the left-hand lane.

When the lights changed to green the lorry went to turn left over the bridge and collided with the passenger side of her car. The driver failed to stop and instead drove off up Remenham Hill.

Mrs Sissons’ black car was left with scratches and dents on the front wheel arch and scratches on the doors.

She said: “The driver looked down at me and I thought, ‘oh right, he knows he’s done it’. He went over the bridge and I thought he’d pull in by Leander but he drove straight on.”

Mrs Sissons, who lives in Meadow Road, was unhurt but said she was in shock and failed to take the details of two people who witnessed the collision. She urged them to come forward.

Anyone with information should call the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
