Sports pavillion suffers at the hands of vandals

VANDALS have spray painted a 10ft piece of graffiti on Watlington’s sports pavilion.

VANDALS have spray painted a 10ft piece of graffiti on Watlington’s sports pavilion.

Parish councillor Tim Horton told this week’s meeting of the parish council: “It says ’The King’ and it’s nothing to do with Elvis leaving the building.”

He described the writing, which is on the side of the building off Shirburn Road, as “sophisticated”.,

“I’ve spoken to the skateboarders and they are as dismayed as I am, as I’m sure the whole council is,” said Cllr Horton.

“I do believe we should not leave this matter to fester but get quotations to take it off. I think it’s important graffiti is removed as quickly as possible.”

Councillors agreed to report the matter to the police. Anyone with information should called the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number, 101.
