Warning over fake fifties

BUSINESSES have been warned to be vigilant after a fake £50 note was seized in Watlington.

BUSINESSES have been warned to be vigilant after a fake £50 note was seized in Watlington.

Police have received reports of counterfeit notes being used at shops and a post office in South Oxfordshire and neighbouring Vale of White Horse. The incident in Watlington happened on Tuesday.

The crooks are said to purchase small items of value using a fake £50 note to pay in order to obtain the change.

Any incidents should be reported to the Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting serial 927 of 17/3.
