Man airlifted to hospital after collision

SEVEN people including five children were injured after two vehicles collided at Hare Hatch.

A Ford Transit van and a Land Rover Discovery were involved in the accident, which happened on the A4 Bath Road close to the Wyevale garden centre.

The van driver, a man in his forties, was released by firefighters before being airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

A man and then five children who had been travelling in the Land Rover sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened shortly after 2.30pm on Thursday.

Pc James Baker said: ?I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the collision.

?Two cyclists are believed to have been cycling nearby in the direction of Reading and did not stop. I would like to speak to these cyclists as they may have witnessed the collision and could have helpful information.?
