A POLICE rehabilitation centre near Goring has launched a fund-raising lottery.
Flint House, which cares for more than 3,000 injured officers a year, is offering a monthly jackpot of £1,000 and several smaller cash prizes in exchange for a £1 stake.
Proceeds will pay for the upkeep of its services and facilities, which include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and counselling.
Supporter Ron Bridle, who lives in the village, said: “Your money will never be wasted as it all goes to help injured policemen and women back to health and back to work.
“Many return to Goring with their families for a short break so the centre provides a welcome year-round boost to our economy. We regularly provide Flint House with up-to-date visitor information to encourage officers to regularly visit.”
The centre in Reading Road now also runs the catering for Goring community centre’s Lunch Club, which meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
It used to be provided by Wallingford community hospital but this was withdrawn in July.
