THIEVES damaged a tractor while trying to steal it from a farm in Whitchurch.

Police said the offenders broke into the premises in Hardwick Road between 1.20pm and 2.20pm Tuesday.

They took keys from an office and used them to try to start the Kubota tractor but damaged the ignition lock.

A suspicious white van was seen parked near the access to the farm at 11am. It had the words ?Window cleaning services? written on the side and ladders on the roof.

There were two men inside, one was large and bald and the other had short brown hair. Both got out of the van several times and were parked for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
