PARENTS at Crazies Hill Primary School have been accused of poor driving while dropping off and picking up their children.

At a meeting of Wargrave Parish Council on Monday, Councillor Phil Davies said he had been approached by residents after cars blocked driveways and churned up grass verges outside the school.

He said: “At drop-off and pick-up times parents are driving pretty inappropriately on that road. There’s no regard for other road users.

“People have approached me and asked if Wokingham Borough Council can do anything about it.

“Is there the possibility of community support officers going along at those times to give parents a heads up that this behaviour isn’t acceptable?”

He said headteacher Eileen Holmes had sent letters to parents several times but with little effect.

Cllr Davies said that parents had permission to use the nearby Horns pub car park but most chose to park in the street.

Clerk Stephen Hedges said the council would ask police community support officers to patrol the area and remind parents to be more considerate.
