Cut threat

EMMER Green Primary School could lose £47,000 in government grants under plans for a new formula for schools funding.

The Grove Road school currently receives £1,695,000 but this would be reduced to £1,648,000, a cut of almost three per cent, under the shake-up annnounced by Education Secretary Justine Greening. It is due to take effect in 2018/19.

The school, which has more than 400 pupils, is rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.
