Return of Hairy Legs

THIS year’s Hairy Legs challenge will take place at Sheepcot recreation ground in Goring on May 14.

The event is a family fun run of about 12km through the countryside and woodland surrounding the village.

Entrants can complete two laps of a circular course solo or as part of a relay duo. There will also be a 6km Teenage Kicks challenge for younger competitors.

Children aged five to 11 can enter the Little Legs event in which they will run either one or two laps of the recreation ground.

A number of new categories is to be added this year, including a Mr and Mrs challenge for couples.

Every runner will receive a T-shirt and those who have completed it alone on five or more occasions will win a Hairy Legs Legend award.

The organisers are looking for volunteer marshals and would like to hear from businesses that could sponsor the event.

All proceeds will go towards sports equipment and activities at Goring and Streatley primary schools.
