Chilterns walking festival

THE Chilterns Walking Festival, which includes events in Henley and surrounding villages, will take place from May 15 to 29.

The programme includes more than 70 events including guided electric bicycle tours of the Hambleden Valley, which start in Henley and stop at the Chiltern Valley Winery, Turville and Warburg Nature Reserve. They also include a picnic lunch.

Courses in Nordic walking, a walking workout that involves using ski poles, will take place at Pishill and Stonor Park, Turville and Greys Court.

Other walking events will take place at various times of day in Nettlebed, Peppard Common, Watlington, Middle Assendon, Checkendon and Ewelme.

Some include visits to pubs and others will pass locations that have appeared in ITV’s Midsomer Murders.

There will also be a Midsomer-themed tour of Henley and a boat trip to Hambleden Lock on one of leisure operator Hobbs of Henley’s boats.
