TONY HADLEY toasted the crowd at the Rewind South festival on Sunday, telling them he’d had a “great day”.
He had every reason to celebrate for the former Spandau Ballet lead singer delivered an engaging and entertaining 40-minute set on the main stage.
The 40,000 people gathered on Temple Island Meadows were all on their feet singing and dancing as Hadley, whose powerful voice hasn’t waned one bit, belted out favourites such as True and Gold.
Hadley truly knows how to work a crowd, regularly interacting with audience members who’d secured a spot right at the front barriers and even complimenting them on their costumes.
He was ably supported by percussionist Lily Gonzalez, whose vocals at one point threatened to put Hadley in the dark.
