THIS year’s Christmas fair at the Christ Church Centre in Henley raised almost £2,000.
Scores of people visited the event, which featured 11 stalls selling goods including candles, house plants, jewellery, cuddly toys, knitwear, Fairtrade gifts and crafts made by the church’s Busy Bees group.
Home-made cakes, hot lunches and teas and coffees were available and there was a charity raffle with prizes of hampers and bottles of festive drinks.
Guests included Mayor and Mayoress Julian and Gabriele Brookes and former mayor Jeni Wood. The proceeds will go towards the upkeep of Christ Church and the services it offers to the community.
Co-organiser Brian Kendrick said: “It was lovely to see lots of visitors as well as church members. The atmosphere was superb.”
