HENLEY residents be warned — pretty soon the town and surrounding villages will be plastered with posters advertising the Henley Art and Crafts Guild’s coming autumn exhibition.

The poster chosen to publicise the annual event features the portraits of 16 local people. Could one of these be you — and would you recognise yourself?

Jenny Law, the artist who created the poster, said: “I just painted from some photos our tutor gave us — some interesting faces — and this was the result. I hope I don’t upset any of the models, though they may be a bit surprised to find themselves hanging on the walls!”

Jenny’s original painting will be hung at the exhibition, which opens at 6pm on Friday, October 21, at the Old Fire Station Gallery in Market Place, Henley.

Ann Spicer of Henley Art and Crafts Guild said: “It runs until the following Tuesday, October 25, along with lots of other paintings and sculptures and pottery. So do come along and see if you are ‘on view’!”

Following the opening night, the exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4pm. For more details, visit www.henley-arts.org.
