GYLLY Rutherford started doing Pilates in the early Seventies as part of her daily routine as a professional dancer.
Over 15 years ago she qualified as an instructor with Body Control Pilates and continues to develop and update her extensive knowledge in all Pilates methods.
She has two passions — movement and teaching. Her belief is that we are designed as functioning bodies to move, and so we should to the best of our abilities.
What she loves most is seeing people get involved with exercise, connecting to movement and seeking to achieve their individual ultimate potential.
She explores and experiments with Pilates and creativity of movement, therefore her sessions always promise to be fresh, inspiring, invigorating and fun.
Gylly’s aim is to functionally strengthen, condition and balance her clients, enabling them to move as efficiently as possible, aiding them to live in a pain- and injury-free environment.
She emphasises that any movement, no matter how small — for example a simple stretch, controlled breathing, neck rolls or ankle circles — can make people feel better about themselves.
Pilates is for everyone, of any age and any gender. Due to the demand caused by the recent closure of LA Fitness, Gylly has added to her classes at the Henley YMCA.
The maximum class number is 12, ensuring quality and safety.
