A VILLAGE market selling everything from olives to ethnic scarves will take over Henley’s Market Place next weekend.

The World Village Market will offer visitors a range of gift ideas and food products from all over the world.

The event, organised by the Market Square Group, will take place in the Market square from Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14 and will feature ethically-traded, handmade, ecofriendly arts, crafts, clothing and accessories from across the globe — including trinkets and scarves from Turkey, Indian dresses, jackets and shawls and sequined flip-flops and bags from Bali. This festival-style market also features a range of exotic world cooking and home-made, healthy and traceable foods for visitors to try, including French crêpes and cheeses, Columbian gourmet coffees and Greek delicacies.

And for those who prefer flavours from a little closer to home there will also be local cheeses, pickles, chutneys and preserves on offer.

Visitors will be entertained with live music from classical violinist Andrew Hubbard.
