Community Burns Night a success

Piping hot: a traditional Burns Night supper at the Baskerville pub in Shiplake was attended by about 60 people.

The evening began with manager Kevin Hannah reading the Selkirk Grace, while landlord Allan Hannah addressed the haggis.

Barry Smith proposed a toast to the lassies, while landlady Kathleen Hannah replied on their behalf.

Ted Thompson, the Provost of Dumfries, gave the immortal memory and Henley Mayor Martin Akehurst concluded the evening by thanking everyone for attending.
