New food festival in date move

A NEW food festival will be held in Henley a month later than planned.

A NEW food festival will be held in Henley a month later than planned.

The Henley Food and Drink Festival, which was due to take place on May 7 and 8 next year will now be staged on June 11 and 12.

Director Tracey Pryce has rescheduled the event so it does not clash with the new Henley on Food festival taking place at Shiplake College on April 29 to May 1.

She said: “We are very happy with this new date and it will give everyone a chance to fully enjoy the two food-related events in the area without them being too close together. It is a great time of year to encourage people into the town centre, just before all the wonderful summer festivals and activities kick off.”

The festival will have a marquee in Falaise Square and use venues including the town hall, the Old Fire Station Gallery and King’s Arms Barn for cooking demonstrations and the sale of cooking products.

Chefs signed up to the event include Paul Clerehugh, of the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row, Antony Worrall Thompson, of the Greyhound in Peppard, and Ryan Simpson and Liam Trotman, of Orwells in Shiplake.
