Penalty miss proves costly

EMMER GREEN crashed to a 3-2 defeat at home to RICHFIELD ROVERS in their Senior

EMMER GREEN crashed to a 3-2 defeat at home to RICHFIELD ROVERS in their Senior Division clash on Sunday.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead before Richard Eastwood pulled one back for Emmer Green. The hosts reduced the arrears further shortly afterwards when Adam Tombs netted.

Richfield had their goalkeeper sent off 10 minutes from time and five minutes later Emmer Green were awarded a penalty after Daniel Donegan had his legs taken from him in the box.

Donegan stepped up for the resulting spot kick but could only watch as his shot struck the crossbar and the follow-up by Tombs went wide.

Elsewhere in the division KIDMORE END/THE MOD went down to a heavy 6-1 defeat against TILEHURST CLUB at Gallowstree Common.

In the Premier Division KIDMORE END/THE MOD RESERVES picked up a point as they drew 1-1 away to WOODLEY WANDERERS.
