EMMER GREEN picked up their first three points of the season with a 3-2 victory at Lower Whitley Recreation Ground against WHITLEY TAVERN.
Both teams had a couple of chances in the first half but neither were able to break the deadlock to leave the score goalless at half time.
The visitors had a couple of chances to take the lead early in the second half but against the run of play Whitley Tavern netted to go in front.
Emmer Green’s luck went from bad to worse when they lost Mark Froude to a red card soon after but the visitors rallied and came back fighting.
Daniel Donegan levelled the scoring from the penalty spot and Emmer Green soon went in front when Luke Donegan fired home.
Despite being a man short, Emmer Green looked the stronger of the two teams and stamped their authority on the game when Luke Donegan netted his second of the match to put the visitors 3-1 up.
Whitley Tavern pulled a goal back five minutes from time but the visitors held out to secure their first Senior Division points of the season.
