EMMER GREEN crashed to a 4-3 Senior Division defeat away at SOUTHCOTE in a match that saw Daniel Donegan net a hat-trick.
The visitors started the better of the two sides and found themselves taking the lead after three minutes. Emmer Green were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box after Luke Donegan was fouled and brother Daniel took advantage of a poor wall to put the visitors in front. Southcote piled on the pressure equalised five minutes before the break to level the scores.
The hosts took the lead after keeper Jamie Froude’s clearance could only find the Southcote centre forward to put them 2-1 up at the start of the second half. Some more bad defending saw the visitors go 3-1 down. Shortly after a goal mouth scramble resulted in the hosts netting again.
Daniel Donegan pulled one back for Emmer Green with a well hit shot from the edge of the box and the visitors were soon on the verge of a comeback when Daniel Donegan netted his third of the game when another free kick found its way through a crowded box into the bottom left-hand corner. The visitors pushed hard for a fourth but the hosts held on to secure the points.
KIDMORE END/THE MOD RESERVES moved up to third place in the Premier Division following their 5-1 win against TILEHURST YM at Gallowstree Common.
