Williams at double as United secure derby bragging rights at Woodcote/Stoke Row

GORING UNITED secured the honours in their Division 2 derby clash at WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES’ Recreation Ground last Saturday.

Adam Williams put the visitors ahead after eight minutes before Carl Smith levelled for the hosts.

William Jaycock fired the visitors ahead from the penalty spot after 36 minutes while Williams wrapped up the scoring five minutes into the second half with his second of the game.

Elsewhere in the division WARGRAVE crashed to a heavy 8-2 defeat at home to WHITE EAGLES.

In Division 4 there were home defeats for both GORING UNITED RESERVES and WARGRAVE RESERVES who went down 4-2 to TWYFORD AND RUSCOMBE and 4-3 to AFC CORINTHIANS A respectively.

l WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW made progress in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup as they won their second round tie 4-3 at fellow Premier Division side UNITY with the winning goal coming from Jonny Summers late in the game. Summers netted two goals in all which Darren Russell scored from the penalty spot and James Worsfold was also on target.
