Adey strike earns three points for Emmer Green

EMMER GREEN, playing their first match in nine weeks, ran out 1-0 winners in their Senior Division clash against READING YMCA at Linear Park.

The visitors included player manager Jon Mills at left
back as they played the match with no substitutes. Emmer Green rallied and stuck in to keep honours even at the break.

Emmer Green came out stronger in the second half and despite chances from both sides it looked like the game was heading for a draw until Johnny Adey got on the end of a misplaced cross from Ben Gonzales and fired home to put the visitors ahead. Emmer Green defended well for the remainder of the game to secure all three points.

Elsewhere in the division basement side KIDMORE END/THE MOD continue to search for their first points of the season after going down to their ninth consecutive defeat as they lost 4-1 against READING IRISH at Gallowstree Common.
