A DISAPPOINTING first half performance saw Hambleden slump to another defeat against Wycombe and District Senior Division leaders Spartans on Saturday.
Conceding three goals in the opening period left Hambleden too much to do and although a second half spirited performance saw them claw two goals back it wasn’t enough.
Hambleden started well and caused the away team problems in midfield and defence. Simon Hathaway soon created an opening forcing himself clear with a run from the halfway line but lifted his shot high over.
After six minutes and with chances aplenty for the home team Simon Hathaway again worked hard to get on the end of his brother’s goal kick and when well placed lofted another shot over the bar.
Continuing the early pressure Chris Brunning advanced for a corner and forced a save from the Spartans keeper.
